Dear All
This week's bulletin contains information on the Welsh Government Guidance, Women's Big Cricket Month and the Play-Cricket Tool.
Further to the recent easements in Coronavirus restrictions in Wales, the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket Wales have agreed a number of updates to our Guidance for Outdoor Cricket Activity. This guidance replaces that which was issued in April 2021.
We encourage all participants, clubs and venue providers to read the document, as there are some significant changes to off-field restrictions which may affect your day, principally:
Spectators are not permitted at any sports events in Wales at Alert Level 2, except at such events sanctioned by Welsh Government as 'test events', or where parents or guardians need to attend recreational training or matches for safeguarding reasons, or where carers need to support disabled participants.
Women’s Big Cricket Month is back for a second year, aiming to give more women and girls the opportunity to play, follow or attend cricket in 2021. With exciting new activities at grassroots level, the second year of a brand new professional domestic structure in place, two fascinating England Women series and the launch of The Hundred, this year is shaping up to see more women and girls than ever before say ‘cricket is a game for me’.
With June just over a week away, registrations are now open! And we’re encouraging every club that is planning an event or activity as part of Women’s Big Cricket Month to share the details of what you’re doing here. This may be for an existing women's and/or girls' activity you already have planned for June, or a one-off event that is being organised to champion women’s and girls’ cricket. By registering, we will be able to provide you with all the marketing tools you’ll need to help make your activities and events as big as possible, and to feel a part of this game wide celebration.
