Abbots Langley CC hosts first event of a busy summer for womens cricket...
On Friday 5th May Hertfordshire hosted their first women’s Softball Cricket event of the summer at Abbots Langley Cricket Club. The event, only the second in the country to take place this year was well attended with 12 women taking part. Music was playing, special branded equipment for women’s Cricket was used, and afterwards the participants enjoyed prosecco and strawberries!
Friday night was the first of many women’s Cricket events this summer, and with the women’s World Cup hosted in England next month we are very excited about women’s cricket in Hertfordshire going forward.
The session was informal, fun, and relaxed with the aim of everyone to have a go and learn some new skills. By the end of the evening we had practised our catching, running between the wickets, bowling, and batting and we even rounded off the event by putting together the new skills learnt and playing a game of softball pair’s cricket.
