It is with sadness we record the death of Denys Carnill on March 30th 2016 at the age of 90.

A member of Welwyn Garden City CC Denys was a dashing left handed batsman who played for the county in the years 1949 - 1956, scoring 2269 runs at an average of 31.08. He was a speedy and athletic fielder as befits an international hockey player who represented Great Britain at three Olympic Games, Helsinki 1952, Melbourne 1956 and Rome 1960.

There is to be a celebration of Denys' life which will take place at Dean Close School Memorial Chapel on Saturday 1st October 2016 starting at 12 noon, which will be followed by lunch. For more details and to RSVP please contact Alex Hume at ods@deanclose.org.uk
