Anthony (Tony) Tarry Snr

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Tony Tarry on December 28th at the age of 94. Tony had been a member of the Association for over 35 years and was a life member of the Welwyn Garden City Cricket Club, having been involved as a player and a committee member for many years.

The funeral will take place at 3.00pm on Friday 4th February 2022 at Woollensbrook Crematorium. Followed by a few drinks in his memory at Welwyn Garden City Cricket Club

Alan Phipps

It is also with much sadness that we record the death of Alan Phipps on 18th January. Alan had been a member of the Association for 20 years since 2002 when he first played for the Over 50s. He was a middle order batsman and slow spin bowler. His highest scores for the Seniors were 57 for the Over 50s 2nd XI and 43 for the Over 50s 1st XI when he opened the batting against Devon in the National quarter finals.

He played for the Old Haberdashers CC and was a past president of the Old Haberdashers Association.

The funeral will take place at 2pm on Tuesday 15th February at West Herts Crematorium and afterwards at Radlett Cricket Club.
