OUR TARGETS
COMMUNITY CRICKET
We aim to provide cricket to those that do not currently have access to play
Strategy
- HCL used the Chance 2 Shine programme to get cricket into the more deprived schools in the county while also targeting those with a much larger percentage of ethnicity.
- Waltham Cross, Stevenage, Watford, Borehamwood and other areas targeted to provide cricket to new audiences
- Engagement with local clubs where possible or longer term establish new clubs
- Use of ECB “free places” on All Stars and Dynamos programs through clubs or schools
- New clubs integrated into Herts leagues within 10 years
UNTAPPED POTENTIAL
We aim to increase the number of state school children in our pathway
Strategy
- Enhanced bursary scheme for those who currently don’t have the funds
- Performance Lead working with state school cricket competition to visit matches/ talent spot and offer help to teachers for cricket programs.
- Grow use of hardship fund and continue to support all legitimate requests
- Increased schools festivals to showcase talent
DISABILITY CRICKET
We aim to expand disability cricket within the county. We currently have a senior representative side but we want more
Strategy
- 6 Disability Champion Clubs
- Currently in 16 SEND schools delivering cricket programmes
- Table cricket tournaments
- 3 Super 1s Hubs across the county linked to Champion Clubs
- Super 9s Hertfordshire Rep XI
WE ALSO CONTINUE TO......
Governance:
- Present a board that is diverse and representative of those who live and play cricket in Hertfordshire
- An anonymised application process for any roles
- Continue to embed EDI in all aspects of cricket in the county
Women & Girls:
- 50% female coaches on our pathway
- Proof of Concept for girls in Hertfordshire schools delivery
- 88 Girls teams in 2023
- 18 Women’s teams in 2023
Chance to Shine:
- 14% delivery from female coaches
- There are five schools with over 40% of pupils receiving free school meals – all been delivered in
- 18 schools delivered in located in “deprived areas” of the county
National Programmes:
- Over 2400 All Stars and Dynamos in 2023
- Nearly a ¼ being female
