The Association offers expert guidance and support on all aspects of preparation, management and maintenance of cricket grounds from:

Jerry Dovey - Pitch Advisor for Hertfordshire
Recommendations are made to The Pitches and Natural Turf Improvement Programme to assist clubs in restoring grounds after flood damage. As a result, one Hertfordshire club has received £30K to restore their ground.
As of January 2015, all cricket clubs who Primary Affiliate to Hertfordshire Cricket on a yearly basis automatically become members of the Hertfordshire Cricket Grounds Association.
Specialised machinery and equipment can be transported to clubs’ grounds. Advisors recommend the optimum use of the equipment and we have for hire:
- A calibrated spreader
- A combi-rake
- A paladin pitch mower
- A sprayer
The mower will be loaned out free to members for two weeks in emergencies.
HCGA seeks to build partnerships with clubs to foster mutual assistance between them e.g. by loaning equipment.
With respect to courses, currently we subsidise 50% of course fees to members, which typically cost £228. A programme of courses on offer can be found on the Course Availability page.
